A Note from our Artistic Director-
Control Group is rarely one cohesive, coherent thing. Almost never a consistent thing. It’s a platform, a container for ideas/effort/manifestations. It’s radically project-centric, responsive to the needs of the specific vision and the process as it unfurls. It’s also increasingly radically people-centric, recognizing that cogent visions and rich processes are most possible when we are able to be whole people with each other, in a container that is meeting us as comprehensively as possible in our needs and our visions.
So we operate within a collaboration between radically responsive, labor-intensive project development, and gradual, permacultural evolution of programming and organizational vision. Each project is its own momentary utopia. Pieces and elements of that generativity stick permanently in our protocols and navigational intentions, the rest is composted into fertility for the next project.
Your support makes that possible.
We hope you'll consider donating today.
Gratefully yours,
Patrick Mueller
Artistic Director, Control Group Productions
Control Group creates expeditionary performance — entirely singular live immersive experiences that take audiences on wild rides into the unknown.
Together we drop into hidden corners of our familiar world, exploring rich environments filled with delicately crafted performance that bridges imagination and sensory reality, simultaneously transporting us and taking us deeper into ourselves.
Control Group cultivates a community driven by innovation and exploration.
We create opportunities for learning, sharing, personal growth, and career development, for artists from recreational to professional. We bring our work and approaches into underserved communities, cultivating new voices and promoting simple life skills available through artistic practices.
We stand at the forefront of innovation in Denver's independent performance scene. We are tirelessly building a community of artists, supporters, and audience/participants to carry local culture through the 21st century.
Colorado-based and globally-faced, we seek to connect our work and community with larger flows and cutting-edge innovations around the world.
Collaborative.
Community-driven.
Socially Engaged.
Control Group Productions is based on the unceded land of the Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) and Tsitsistas (Cheyenne) nations, also home to the Nuciu (Ute) and many other Indigenous nations, we are committed to direct action, land back, and all forms of decolonization.
